About the Coach
A native of New York, earned an associate's degree in Sports Management and Individual Studies from Jefferson Community College in December 2020 and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Olivet in December 2022. He was awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove in 2016 by the NJCAA Division III Baseball Committee, having excelled defensively and offensively with a .347 batting average, 32 RBIs, and notable fielding stats during that season. Corniel's coaching career includes a stint as Head Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator at Southwest Virginia CC, primarily working with hitters. Also, Corniel has spent several summers coaching collegiate baseball, recent stint for the Fulton Railroaders of the Ohio Valley League. At the University of Olivet, he worked with all defensive groups, assist hitters, and coached first base, contributing to the team's improved fielding and batting performance. Additionally, he played a role in the Olivet baseball program receiving the ABCA club Academic Excellence Award. Corniel began his coaching career at the Community Health Academy of the Heights in New York, where he gained comprehensive experience in various aspects of the program starting in November 2018.
